The themes of retiring from public life (or its variations, such as retiring from channelling, sharing, teaching, and similar) manifest frequently in the lives of spiritual teachers as a result of an inner calling from one’s own Soul. What is going on behind the scenes is a call to complete one’s own spiritual work and to fully self-individualize in a fuller Union with one’s own Soul.
Then one’s energy changes and one’s Soul becomes configured in a different way – one is no longer an open or porous soul radiating energy and/or spreading love and light (and with that some people renounce light-working), but one is concentrating and consecrating energy within for a different purpose, and the paths become mutually incompatible over time.

It then becomes impossible to be emotionally, energetically or spiritually available to the many, and if one does not fully self-individualize and complete one’s own inner work, one will have to reincarnate to complete it.
To self-individualize is to become at One with one’s own Soul and in outer service there is always a splitting or a spreading of awareness that in the end keeps one out of one’s own Centre.
In the end not everything needs to be shared, nor can be shared, and in the deeper spiritual retreat that is the product of the retired life, comes a deeper spiritual intimacy with self and understanding oneself in a different way. Thus the inner calling can be intense and if denied, ignored or resisted, sometimes outer circumstances or life events can force the point home.
How one uses one’s energy and one’s spiritual gifts change and retirement from public life (and its variations) comes with a lot of dissolution of outgrown soul contracts and a deeper freedom from the unconscious projections of the many (and all that comes with them).
One does not have to be available for many people and past a certain point, one will just not want it, as one’s energy has evolved. For me, I found working 1-1 with a small number of people that can understand my teachings and perspectives, makes a lot more energetic and spiritual sense. I have also witnessed others arrive at similar conclusions as they honour their own spiritual process and journey, and release ways of working that no longer serve.
All this often comes with the lessons of self love (and the realization as to what that actually is, and is not) as without those lessons and understandings in place one will be forever compelled to be emotionally, energetically and spiritually available to the human race – and in that – is the bind to the karma of the human race that some souls decide they want out of for various reasons (of which there can be many) including the awareness of the collapse / dissolution / ending of 3D timelines.
Then comes a long period of inner integration and a recapitulation of soul energy (awareness) as all the soul energy that one shared outwardly is ultimately returned to balance the energy of one’s incarnation. Karma that does not belong to one is also returned to its origin in this process also and as a result one becomes karmically purified (karmically white).

The soul energy freed up then becomes available for the inner work and one has the freedom to live in alignment with one’s own Soul, and the resultant state of consciousness (and the energy configuration) is predominantly beyond human understanding.
The truth is one is a completely free and sovereign being and one is not obligated to be in service for one’s whole life (nor can one ever be energetically or spiritually, if one is aligned with a deeper truth), nor is there any way you have to or ought to be, to satisfy others. Wise readers may also understand the teachings of Jungian psychology in relation to Psychological Integration and Self Actualization and how that all ties into the inner work and a deeper Union with one’s own Soul.
Some people had to or have to teach for a period of their lives for a variety of reasons (and if one has to, one has karma), but once one has fulfilled that karma, the obligation is no longer there. In retirement from the public life comes a deeper inner peace, clarity, a refining of wisdom and a necessary re-orientation in relation to how one lives and serves.
